Article I.           Name

1.  The name of the organization shall be the Video Game Association at PBHS.

Article II.        Purpose

1.  To bring people together through gaming.

2.  To help fund the Golden Rule Dept. Store in Belington, WV.

3.   To make and keep a website for future events, cancelling, etc.

Article III.    Membership

1.  Membership shall be for the academic calendar.

2.  A member shall be considered in good standing with the organization as long as he/she fulfills the following criteria:

A.     Pays dues

B.     Attends meetings

3.  Members who remain in good standing are entitled to be able to participate in the game play nicely.

4.  Failure to meet in the requirement above like tech abuse, “ganging up” or signaling out on a player, bad language, or being a “sore loser” may result in loss of participation; and, in extreme cases, may be grounds for removal of membership.

5.  This organization shall not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, national origin, ancestry, disability, veteran’s status, sexual orientation, or political affiliation.

Article IV.     Dues & Treasury

1.   The local dues of the Video Game Association is set at $5 per 2 weeks.

2.  Every 9 weeks 25% of said dues will fund to the Golden Rule Dept. Store in Belington, WV.

3.  In case of organizational dissolution, the organizational funds will go to the school and the Golden Rule Dept. Store.

 

Article V.         Government

1.  The elected officers of this organization shall include:

(a)        President

(b)        Treasurer

(c)         Vice President

2.  Other appointed leaders of this organization shall include:

(a)        Historian

(b)        An Advisor who is a current, full-time employee of PBHS

3.  Nominations shall be held during the 1st meeting of the 1st semester

4.  Elections of officers shall be held the 2nd meeting of the 1st semester

5.  Term of office shall be for one academic year

6.  Any officer may be removed by the advisor and a majority vote

7.  Officers being considered for disciplinary action may make appeals by providing an explanation

8.  Should an office become vacant in mid-term a new officer shall be chosen by a majority vote; if the 1st vice president is vacant, the 2nd vice president will take role

9.  Requirements to be an officer include being a registered student at PBHS and in good academic standing

Article VI.     Duties of leadership

1.  Duties of government shall be administered by president and advisor

Article VII.  Committees

1.  There shall be 2 standing committees, and their charge as follows:

(a)        Fundraising Committee: to cover fundraising, programming, and activities

(b)        Membership Committee: managing the recruitment of new members and new member orientation

Article VIII.                      Organization Meetings

1.  There shall be a minimum of 2 meetings per month all year. Additional meetings may be called by the president. Additional meetings must be announced at least one week in advance

2.  This organization is subject to the policies and procedures of PBHS.

3.  A quorum for conducting business shall be considered to be a minimum of 2 members

4.  The advisor should attend at least one regular meeting per semester in addition to the meeting of elections

5.  All general meetings shall be open to all PBHS students

Article IX.     Amendments

1.  Any member may submit a proposal amend this constitution

2.  Amendments may be made according to the following procedure:

(a)        Proposals are to be submitted in writing

(b)        For a proposal to pass it must have a majority vote
